I never posted about Soccer so I will add real quick.  Coach Harper talked Zach into playing soccer again this year.  He hadn't played since 7th grade.  He played JV and Varsity so it was a long season.  I did get a few pictures that I am going to post.

Yesterday, really after graduation tomorrow night begins another chapter in our lives.  Zach will officially be a Senior!  Where did the time go?  He finished soccer season a couple of weeks ago and went straight into conditioning for basketball.  Tryouts were this week and fortunately he made it once again.  Krislyn's school, Summit High School, has their first ever graduation ceremony ever tomorrow night.  Kind of cool I think to be part of the first one.  Another thing I think is really cool is that the faculty wear their college gowns and stoles.  So I guess she will break out the Orange and White another time.  They did this at her school in Knoxville and I just think it is such a neat tradition.  I have already scheduled Senior pictures and am trying to mentally prepare for the phase.  Zach is taking the ACT again  in June.  He has supposedly narrowed his college application choices down to UT, Tennessee Tech and Carson Newman.  Guess we will have to see!  I know God will take care of it and where he is suppose to go.  As usual summer will be busy, thank goodness no wedding this year!  Basketball, work, animals, basketball, work, animals, etc.

Christmas and New Years 2013

We had a great Christmas!  It was really layed back and comfortable.  We opened gifts with Zach on Christmas eve.  He loved the Ipad mini he got and the clothes.  He is pretty easy to shop for.  Matt got me a Kitchen Aid Classic mixer.  I was so excited!  It is going to be so nice when I do birthday cakes and my decorated cookies.  He did really good this year.  Spent a couple of hours with my family Christmas morning for breakfast.  It was really nice.  Had breakfast then just sat back and talked, watched a little TV and enjoyed each others company.

That evening we went to Matt's parents for Taylor Christmas.  Lot's of fun.  Rebecca initiated Nathan into the family (running family joke).  He was a really good sport!

The day after Christmas we had two new members to the family.  Ms. Kay had her twin baby goats.  Still trying to decide on names.  I think I am leaning toward Romeo and Juliet since we have one boy and one girl.  Don't have pictures from Christmas but I am going to try to post a few pictures from Basketball.  Zach is about halfway through the season.  I am so blessed because so far my work schedule has allowed me to be at every game.  and looks like unless there are major changes I will get to be at all the rest.  Hard to believe we will only have one more year of basketball.  It has been a really important part of our life.  Matt and I met at a CCMS basketball game then ran into each other the next night at the High School game versus Shelbyville.  This was in 1995.  We dated all through basketball season even while he was also playing church league basketball on Saturdays.  Guess I was a pretty cheap date!    We married on May 27, 1995 and will celebrate our 19th anniversary in May 2014.  After that Andrew started coaching, so we have been there every season since 1994.  Zach went to games while I was pregnant and as it would turn out while I was in labor with him the March Madness College Tournament was on.  I guess that boy was meant to play basketball!  LOL.  We are just so proud that he has the confidence and the spirit to go out and work hard.  Something Matt or I nether one would have done.

I hope everyone has a blessed and wonderful New Year!

Basketball has begun!

So excited that Zach's basketball season is underway.  His first game was at Summit High School which is the school where Krislyn teaches.  It was so cool.  He got to start and got a lot of minutes.  Lately he has been either the first or second sub in the game.  He is playing a lot of minutes and is doing well.  He text us this morning to tell us that the Coach had told him he was starting him at point guard tomorrow night.  If you know Zach this is something he has been working for for a long time.  we are so proud of him, especially since this time last year he wasn't even dressing varsity.  He has changed so much.  He takes his ACT Saturday and college material is in the mail everyday.  He isn't sure where he wants to go to college but he is hoping he can get a position as a manager, student assistant or something like that with the basketball team where he goes.  This is this years picture.  I will post some action shots from the newspaper when I get them.

Zach and his dislocated finger!

Got to spend a little of last Thursday night in the ER with Z. While playing basketball at the Rec he dislocated his finger. Tori says he is pretty tough because he didn't scream or anything. I guess I didn't really realize how much he has grown till he got on the table.
